I was born and raised in a gospel-centered home. My dad has been a pastor all my life, and the Lord used my parents’ leadership to create in me a love for Him and His church at a very young age. While much of my growth and understanding took place in my teenage years, I am confident that God mercifully rescued me early in life to the effect that I cannot remember life without Him.

I wrestled throughout high school with what God would have me do. I loved the Bible and theology and was excited about the prospect of pastoral ministry but had an unrealistic standard for what God’s calling would look like.

After high school I went to Baylor University to pursue a business degree. During my first semester, it became clear that if I was going to spend four years studying, I wanted to study Scripture. I transferred to Criswell College in Dallas, married my wife, Carrie, and got involved at The Village. It was during this season of life that the Lord confirmed a calling into ministry through the wise counsel and affirmation of Christian community.

My wife and I have been married since 2008 and we, along with our children, love being a part of the family at The Village.

Our prayers were answered in a huge way when the entire month of March I went through the process of being hired, and this past Saturday, April 1st was my first official day on staff as a Worship Leader at the Austin Stone!!

My primary role will be leading worship at both South and West campuses as well as leading out in building production and environment volunteers at both of these campuses. Plus, I get to continue to serve alongside the amazing leaders within Austin Stone Worship and play an even bigger role than before in songwriting, discipleship and building our team.

It goes without saying that Jess and I are both so excited that God would bless our family in this way! Not only with a full-time position, but with the opportunity to stay in Austin and at a church we love and call home. To look back over the past 2 years and see the Lord’s hand in EVERYTHING is just another testament to His faithfulness and grace. The residency at the Austin Stone has been one of the most enjoyable and fruitful seasons of my life and I’m so happy to be continuing the Lord’s calling by serving on staff.
